    DIA Group has just opened its first stores under the DIA label in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The company initially expects to open 32 establishments thanks to an agreement with a local partner for business expansion in the region. Its aim is to bring the company's entire retail range to this region, which has a population of more than 16 million inhabitants, making it the densest region in the country.
  • The CNMC takes no further action regarding the complaint lodged by FIAB and PROMARCA against the alliance between DIA and Eroski 10/17/2016
    On 25 November 2015, DIA and EROSKI were reported by FIAB and PROMARCA to the CNMC for conduct potentially in breach of what is set forth in the Competition Defence Law. Specifically, they considered that the alliance entered into by DIA and EROSKI resulted in price fixing, limitation of investments for innovation or promotion, imposition of similar conditions for different services and subordination of contracts entered into with them to the acceptance of payments and business terms which are not in line with the supply agreements with each distributor. In addition, FIAB and PROMARCA complained that the application of the agreement would lead to conduct that could be qualified as abuse of a dominant position
  • La Plaza de DIA opens its online shop on Amazon 09/28/2016
    DIA and Amazon have reached an agreement to provide La Plaza de DIA with an online shop on Amazon, which as from today will enable customers to make their purchases from this new virtual establishment, which will be open 7 days a week from 8 am to 12 midnight. Orders will be prepared from a single La Plaza de DIA shop located in Madrid, the staff of which has been increased to a total of 47 workers.
  • DIA signs an agreement with ING for cash withdrawal at its store network 09/08/2016
    DIA Group and ING have started to offer a service which is ground-breaking in Spain, allowing the bank's customers to withdraw cash from DIA’s own store network across Spain. Via the Twyp Cash mobile app, users can request to withdraw a minimum of 20 Euro and a maximum of 150 Euro via their mobile phone at the checkout of any of the DIA Group's different formats (DIA Market, DIA Maxi, La Plaza de DIA, Clarel and El Árbol), provided that the operation is always linked to a purchase
