  • DIA Group appoints Antonio Coto as its new CEO 08/24/2018
    • The new CEO brings a wealth experience within DIA Group, since he has to date lead the company’s operations in strategic markets such as Brazil and Argentina.
    • The principal challenge facing Antonio Coto will be to lead the transformation process which DIA Group is undergoing; this will be enshrined in a new strategic plan, to be unveiled shortly.
    • DIA’s Management Board has expressed its sincere gratitude for the work carried out by Ricardo Currás, who has played a key role in the company’s success over recent years.

    In the first quarter of 2018, DIA Group generated gross sales under banner of EUR2.27bn, up 0.2% in local currency compared to the first quarter of 2017. In Spain, like-for-like sales increased by 0.5%. As announced, DIA Group is continuing with its intensive store remodelling programme. In the first three months of the year, the company remodelled a total of 480 stores, of which 457 were in Spain. At this pace, the company is ahead of the announced remodelling plan.

    In 2017, the DIA Group posted gross sales under banner of EUR10.3bn, up 1.5% in local currency versus 2016. The 10.8% sales growth in emerging countries was offset by a 3.3% fall in Iberia, where in the last quarter of the year the company generated positive comparable sales thanks to its price-cutting policy.

    In the first nine months of 2017, DIA Group posted gross sales under banner of EUR7.734bn, implying a 1.5% increase in euros and 1.4% in local currency versus the same period in the previous years. In a more competitive climate, DIA Group remains focused on its strategy of offering the customer the best products and services, always at the best price, with a network of modern stores that are adapted to consumers’ changing needs.
  • First quarter 2017 Results 05/11/2017
    In Q1 2017, DIA Group generated gross sales under banner of EUR2.5bn, implying growth of 2.9% in local currency compared to the same period last year and an increase of 6.8% in euros. Argentina and Brazil contributed with 13% growth in gross sales under banner in local currency, reaching EUR933m.
